Sabrina Schutter – wk 4 XXX – meet prep

Sabrina Schutter Equipped Powerlifting, Team Training Logs

Week 4 meet prep and a nice deload. I always like having deload weeks these days because I realize the necessities of it. I remember very vividly when I started, having the same mind set as every other lifter that just started, thinking I didn’t need/want to deload. How it was stupid, my body will recover fine, I’m not doing enough, I need to get more volume in, etc.

BUT those days are over and this is what I did for my training.

9/30

Goblet squats 3×15

McGill big 3 —> Check out the newly released book The Gift of Injury for more on why Team PRS swears by movements presented by Dr. Stuart McGill and proved success by Brian Carroll.

Squats 5×1 @ 50% (predator briefs)

Deads 5×1 @ 50% (in fusion dl suit, straps up)

GHR 3×10

RDLs 3×10, 135

10/1

My tricep has been giving me some fits, but not exactly sure why  I know it’s something with the shirt, because that’s the only time it bothers me, but regardless I’m happy to get this week out of it. Dain also came to train with us this weekend  trying to figure out his bench before he does this next meet, it’s been giving him some fits.

Training for me went as follows:

Bands, bands, and more bands. Basically every angle of band stretching, muscle activation, blood flow you could think of, especially in the tricep heads. Trying to recover my right arm, and not let them turn into a severe injury.

I didn’t do any actual benching today, figured it was actually better to avoid bench and do DB Work only plus by the time I was warmed up the guys were alread full force and many in shirts and ready for spotters.

Incline 45° 6×8 up to 65lbs

lat pull downs 6×10

tricep rope extensions 5×15 with 3 sec hold every 3rd rep  (more blood flow)

rear raises 3×10

And that’s all she wrote. Ready to get the shirt back on next week and see how it feels. Also, we sent my briefs to be taken in. The 38s were way to big, and for some reason the 36s I have just aren’t fitting me exactly the way is like, might need to let those out a really small amount on the hip. They should be back soon though, Ginny always does a good job taking care of all our INZER gear!
