Andrew Serrano – 1 Week Out

1 week out. I’ve gone over my openers with Paul and I feel really good about where I’m at. This was the second to last squat session, I’ll squat once more at 60% on Tuesday and then it’s just make weight and recover into the meet. About 4 weeks ago I hit a stride in my diet and that alone got me from 212 to 209 this morning. I expect at least 5 lbs just from cutting carbs and then the water load should take care of the rest. As always I’m using the protocol found in Brian Carroll’s Guide to Weight Cutting which you can find here.

After the last session I felt confident about my strength, but the walk out and technique were not up to par. Naturally that was my focus this session. The walk outs were better but the steps still too big. Other than that everything felt a lot better and the wraps didn’t throw me off as much. I worked up to 555 for a single and it felt easy, the plan is to open at 565 and work up from there. I’ll open bench with 365 and deadlifts at 585.
