Then it got ugly. Went a little over what I’m planning on for my third attempt and took 860. Really had a hard time getting it out of the rack, babied it on the way down and got in my toes. Turned it around and I think I blacked out. My legs went to jello and the spotters put me back in the rack. Not injured or anything, gravity and poor execution just got the best of me. No worries. I shouldn’t have missed though. I got greedy and had this number in my head so I went for it. Plenty of time to recover, get another good one in and be ready for the meet.

I was completely wrecked after that. Pulled 315 for a single and decided I was DONE. I did some leg extensions, some McGill crunches and went home.

Wrap Decision

I just got a pair of the double Inzer grippers. These things are monsters. I tried them out for a few sets and I think I will end up really liking them. They will definitely take a few sessions to break in and since I only have one more real squat training session, I’m staying with what I know for now. After the meet I will properly break them in and really give them a go.
