10 Dec Danny Bellmore – More Rehab
I just completed the 2017 APF Senior Nationals. With just a small set back the meet went fairly well. I finished with a win in the Masters and the Open. I will be going into a long off season with nothing planned as far as meets go.

It has been an interesting last few weeks. I have been implementing Dr. McGill’s protocol. You don’t realize how bad you move until you really start paying closer attention. The intention is to eliminate the movements that cause pain. Right now, the pain is at the highest level upon waking up. I have adjusted sleep patterns over the last few weeks with very little pain relief if any. Basically, the protocol I am following is laid right out in the Gift of Injury book. I have been starting my days out with short walks to loosen up the muscles and promote blood flow in the lower back. The goal right now is to try to desensitize the pain by avoiding movements that cause pain. It’s best described by Dr. McGill, if you keep picking the scab the wound will never heal. Dr. McGill said that this would be a very humbling experience and to be honest he was 100% correct.

I am still currently waiting on my Jan 2nd appointment with the surgeon for my neck issues. The pain is about the same with fewer spikes since I have not been doing any lifting. Right now, it’s just a wait and see type of thing.
I will update my log every couple of weeks since I don’t have a ton to write about at the moment.
