24 Aug Danny Vega – USPA MEAT prep – Week 1 squat
I am preparing to compete at the USPA Veterans Classic on November 15th. I will be competing fake raw with wraps in the 220 weight class.
First of all, welcome to Paul Oneid, and we will be adding some other great athletes in the near future. I really believe we are the best team out there. It’s a bold claim, but when you put together all of our combined expertise, the fact that we all genuinely like each other, and our good looks, it becomes a no Brainer.
Today marked the beginning of my contest prep. If you talk to Brian, he would tell you I had a death wish the way I bugged him during his final weeks of meet prep. Here are some examples:
At the end of the day, he sent me programming customized for me, and we’ll be in constant contact weekly, because he loves me. I know I’ll bring my best package yet (lel) at this meet.
Day one was a marathon. Long warm-up consisting of hip circle, McGill big three, KB swings, passovers, etc.
Squat in sleeves 55*10, 145*6, 195*4, 235*4, 285*4, 375*4, added belt for work sets 4*4@445
2 count Pause squats above parallel 285*6, 325*6, 325*6
Piston squats 3*6@325
Backwards sled drags 2 Trips at 225, 2 trips at 270 (100 yards total)
Leg curls 3*15@70
