Lisa Guggisberg-Offseason Week 4 Squats and Deadlifts

I recently competed at the RPS US Open where I totaled 903lbs at 114lbs Raw with wraps.  I am currently in offseason with plans of doing a multiply meet in October/November.

Goal this week was to focus on sitting back more on squats and a wider stance.

Warm up:

  • McGill Big 3
  • Goblet Squats

Squat Work:

Bar 2×10

135 x 5

185 x 5

225 x 3

255 x 3 Briefs on

300 x 1 Briefs

315 3×3 Suit on straps down, knee wraps

Brian suggested putting knee wraps on to help me to sit back more.  Still not worried about hitting depth. Just working on pushing back until I feel the suit grab.

Deadlift Work:

Sumo Pause Deads just below knee.

135 x 5

185 x 5

205 x 5

225 x 5

255 x 5

Taking it easy until my real offseason starts.

I’ll be headed down this weekend to the RPS Redemption meet in Fort Meyers where I’ll be handling my husband who should have a good meet and lend a hand to Brian and Team Samson guys; Jason Kowalewski and Filipe Gusmao.
