Lisa Guggisberg: Pre-contest Squats and Deadlifts

I am currently in pre-contest mode getting ready for the RPS Florida State Championship in Ft. Lauderdale on September 30. I will be competing raw.

Had a great training day at the Team Samson Compound.  Came in focused and ready to work.

Warm-up:

  • McGill Big 3
  • Goblet squats
  • Bar 2 x 10

Squat Work:

  • 155 x 5
  • 205 x 3
  • 245 x 3
  • 295 x 1
  • 325 x 1
  • 345 x 2 x 1
  • 365 x 1 reverse band

Deadlift work:

  • 135 x 5
  • 225 x 3
  • 315 x 1
  • 325 x 1
  • 365 x 2 x 1
  • 385 x 1

385 moved a little slower than I liked but Brian pointed out that we started at a little after 8 am and were finishing up by 10 am so we moved quick, not a whole lot of rest in between sets.  Not to mention that this was 95% of my max.
