Strong(ish) Garagebell Chronicles 2-5-17 Failure Isn’t That Bad, Right?

[wa-wps]
I’m currently training to compete at the XPC Finals at the Arnold. Hoping to change the all time record books once again.

After a complete week off after my 3RMpalooza due to all the joint issues and inflammation I had I finally got back at it.  This is the 2nd heaviest scheduled week of my training cycle but unfortunately things didn’t all go according to plan.  Pretty disappointing but things don’t always go according to plan but sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

Heavy Lower Day (Warm ups – Empty bar squats with wraps on quads/hams, rotational hip stretches, TFL stretch, bird dogs and shoulder mobility)
–Fully Equipped Squat –  up to 826lbs x1 but couldn’t unrack 965lbs
Hips were in a good bit of pain and since I knew something was pretty wrong I shut it down for the day.

Heavy Upper Day (Warm ups – Empty bar squats, rotational hip stretches, TFL stretch, bird dogs and shoulder mobility)
– Bench Press – up to 545×1 and 575×1 1 board.
All moved quite well here so I was pretty happy.  I believe the 575 is a 5lb PR.

That’s all that happened.  Literally 2 exercises completed in 2 weeks at this point.  Hoping to be able to turn it on hard next week!
