I am following the suggested protocol to break in the SDP (https://www.powerrackstrength.com/breaking-in-an-inzer-advance-designs-sdp/)
my question is when do you start increasing and pushing the bar weight?
Depends on where you at in your training cycle.
Mostly though, while breaking in a shirt I am going to take the lightest weight possible to get to the board that I need to get to that week. If you learn the shirt well, this can be quite light. I recall touching a 2-board with 405 in the same shirt that I pressed 715 in.
Breaking a shirt in is a pretty brutal process if it fits right. With the SDP, fits right = SUPER FREAKING TIGHT. You should have doubts that it will work for you kind of tight. If you don’t ponder “maybe this is too tight for me” then it isn’t tight enough. Because of this, breaking a shirt in beats the crap out of you. So I take the least amount of weight possible to touch the boards in an effort to beat myself up a little less.
