For picking your percentages for precontest it mentions picking your best lift to use, or the average of meet and gym best. So once you pick that and run the 10 weeks. On your test day how much are you hoping to beat it buy? I would be just doing a mock meet at the gym so would I do all the numbers for lets say a 250lbs squat and then on test day hope for a 275lbs?
As I state in the book concerning PR’s (in the italics section) don’t be too greedy! a 25lb PR on a 250lb squat is a 10% increase! that’s quite a lofty goal, although sometimes achievable, don’t get used to 10% increases. Try to beat it by 5-10lb at a time.
