Looking for suggestions on the best gear to use for sumo deadlifts
I have tried pulling in several different suits. I have struggled to get to the bar in all of them. I started pulling in my Inzer Leviathan Ultra Pro and I love it. I can loosen it up in my trunk so I can get to the bar, but still get it as tight as I want in the hips and legs. It’s fantastic. I highly recommend giving it a try for pulling sumo.
I feel a lot of it comes down to leverages and if you are able to get your hips through at the top. My suggestion for most people would be a grid stitched 2ply predator and either the LUP or the fusion. Some people struggle getting the hips through with the LUP due to the canvas and prefer the fusion. Honestly I dont think you can go wrong with either.
I personally wasn’t able to use the LUP for sumo, but I’m pretty much the minority in this case. Everyone has pulled a PR in it that I can think of, including many on this website.
The MaxDL isn’t a bad idea either, some think the Fusion is a bit too restrictive as it’s made with the Rage-x material. The MaxDL is more forgiving as it’s the SDP material.
I’d give Inzer a call and they’ll take care of you – 1800.222.6897
