Team Samson Powerlifting

Adam is back to training after getting the massage school recovered from hurricane damage. Lisa Guggisberg joined us as she gets ready for the Women’s Pro Am. Brian is working in gear for now. Clint, Jason, Shane and I are undecided on a meet and are in offseason. Felipe’s glute is still broken.

Everyone worked the straight bar this week. Shane hit a raw PR, I broke in new Inzer Predator briefs and Brian worked in full gear. Deadlifts were done off of 2″ blocks with everyone except Brian pulling raw. Some people have replaced belt squats of late, doing goblet squats or split squats in their place. Suitcase carries have been a staple followed by the McGill big 3 as always.

On Monday, Jason and I worked up to 335 for 5 reps. Adam worked with us and hit 365 after not benching for three months. Clint worked doubles up to 465 and Brian hit his planned work in the SDP. Adam, Jason and I did banded close grip presses with the shoulder saver pad for a million reps. Grenade ball extensions, pushdowns and band work finished the day.
