Dan Dalenberg | DL Only- Week 2 | SQ/DL

I recently competed at the Arnold Classic, lifting at 242 multi-ply. I PRed all around going 8/9 with a 940 squat, 700 bench and 730 deadlift for a 2370 total. I have some unfinished business from that meet, a missed 3rd attempt deadlift that I hope to redeem this July. My training will be a mix of off-season and deadlift contest prep.

1. Squat- Triples to RPE 7

Top set was 595. Using this work to also break in some size 38 triple ply Predators. These are going to be the right brief for me to squat in I think. The 36s are so tight and I’m light right now. The 38s should be good.

2. Deads- Deload

I took this as an opportunity to do some form work in full gear. As I have been playing around with different briefs, I wanted to get some extra work. Singles up to 455.

I think I found the right combo, with a triple ply 36. Under 400 pounds and I can’t even come close to setting up, the weight pops off the floor as I am pulling myself down. Shame I didn’t get the one set at 315 on video! Weight came up, I stood up, almost fell over with bar in my hands.

3. Sumo- 3 x 3

4. Chin Ups- 5 x 8
