29 Aug Dan Dalenberg- 3 weeks in to contest prep
I recently completed a long off season post Arnold Classic XPC. I’m training for a full meet this fall, an RPS meet hosted by Lexen Xtreme in Columbus. I will be lifting multi-ply at 242. Zane Geeting will be handling my training, Tucker giving some diet advice as well as some guidelines for fluff and buff days.Â
Squat– Buffalo Bar, Speed doubles against chain
5 sets with 405 straight weight and 4 sets of chain per side. Dain was squatting heavy in the mono with a straight bar, so rather than make our session even longer, I improvised with the power rack and made a second mono of sorts to squat out of. Not quite the same, but for the purposes of what I was doing, it worked fine!
Deadlift-Â Last warm up x 2 x 2
I actually ended up taking these as singles. Deadlifting in gear for more than singles is pretty brutal. I’m really pushing the limit on how much gear I can wear and still pull effectively. 5 layers, briefs and suit both grid stitched. I’m getting a little heavy, bodyweight will start becoming much more important so that this stuff all still fits!
Rows-Â 5 x 8
Shrugs-Â A whole bunch of reps
Good start to the week! Meet prep has started off well so far. Looking forward for what is coming in the next few weeks.
