03 Oct Dan Dalenberg- 5 weeks out
Contest prep is well underway. I will competing at the Lexen Xtreme Fall Classic in October, lifting multi-ply 242. I will be looking to improve on my PR total of 2370.
This was a pretty rough week, little bit of a bump in the road but not a total loss. I’m not worried about the meet, but I do need to get a couple good ones in over the next 2 weeks.
Day 1- Squat
The plan was opener, 2nd, reverse band 3rd.
900- Not so great. Bar placement was bad and my feet were all messed up.
945- Better, but still not quite right. Cut it high.
965 with band- Best setup, bar placement was good and feet were right. Lost it out of the hole. I didn’t have my belt latched quite right, user error and couldn’t properly brace.
This was also the hottest week of the year. It was over 90 in the garage. I was supposed to pull after but I felt pretty sick, just wasn’t worth it. Finished up with some GHRs and other various assistance work.
Day 2- Bench
The wheels came off a little. My arms were completely smoked and my wrists felt like they were broken. I made it to 525 and decided nothing good would come from going higher. I cut it short and turned it into a deload. 100 band curls, 100 band pressdowns, 100 pec fly.
This week- Week 4
Planned deload this week. I’m on the road for work so the timing is perfect. My body feels much better today, ready to get back to it on Sunday evening.
