01 Apr Dan Dalenberg | Off season | Week 1
Currently in offseason mode, rebuilding up to the 250s and working towards a summer meet.
Starting my off season. Again.
My off season got off to a rough start last week with only one actual training day. Seems like my entire office has some kind of illness and I didn’t get left out. So the first week was a complete waste, but no big deal. I ate decent, until the evenings when my appetite went to crap. Morning body weight is hovering around 236 right now, which I think is a good spot to be in.
Monday- 30March- Pulls
The monolift wasn’t coming back from being borrowed for a meet until 8pm and quite frankly I didn’t want to walk any squats out. Sorry purists, I like my knee wraps and my monolift. I get 804 pounds out of that combo! Why would I give them up?
Sumo Deads- Hook grip- Triples to 7RPE
Worked up by plates to 495. Weight was really easy but hook grip pain was about 45RPE. I do feel like I can hold on to about anything as long as I can get past the feeling of my thumbs flattening. Uncomfortable but making good progress! And not a bad sumo pull for me.
Pause Squats- 3 x 6
So I did walk a couple squats out, begrudgingly. Stayed real light at 285 for 3 sets. How Jordan walks out 760 is beyond me. I can’t imagine that.
Conventional Pulls- 3 x 6
315 for all three sets.
Then I did a bunch of curls with the bros while I waited for our monolift to return.
