Dan Dalenberg- SQ/DL Week 6

Warm up

Birddogs and curl ups

Stretch hips and pecs

Hammer curls

Training

Squat- Last warmup with reverse bands. The plan was for a moderate deload. I switched a couple weeks around so I could squat big at the seminar. As a result I was basically deloading my squat 2 weeks in a row. Didn’t want to be to rusty come Saturday.

SO- I worked up through 625 with a reverse band.

Deads- Reverse bands- Something between an opener and 2nd attempt. Then a PR.

Worked up through 585. Took 655. This flew up. Then 725. I got 725 close to lock out but couldn’t finish it. Calves cramped and I decided to bail on it. Looking at the video, I really sucked. Didn’t pull the slack out of the bar, head was down. If it wasn’t for the calves cramping, I’m confident I could’ve finished the left but damn I looked like garbage. Really need to fix this.

Was pressed for time so I finished with a goblet squat, McGill 3 and kettlebell swing circuit. [share title=”Share this Article” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”true” reddit=”true” email=”true”][author title=”About the Author”]
