04 Jun Dan Dalenberg | Week 13 | Bench Deload
Training for the XPC/RPS Atlantic City meet on August 29th. I will be lifting raw with wraps at 242.
Planned bench deload. My back is still feeling a little off so I decided to floor press and keep the stress off my back.
Floor Press- 5 x 3
Just 225. BORING
Close Grip Floor Press- 4 x 10
225, 225, 275, 315. Pushing the close grip work a bit and feeling good about it.
Flyes, Curls and some grip work to finish up.
I went and saw a chiropractor for my back today. I am still feeling a little tight so I thought it would be a good idea. I can’t get in to my usual guy till Monday, so I decided to make an appointment with another doc for this morning.
He thinks that I sprained my SI joint on the left side, but he also barely touched me before making that diagnosis and seemed to be going completely off of my description of what happened. He adjusted me and hooked me up to an E-stim for a bit. It seemed to help but I was generally unimpressed.
I don’t usually trust chiropractors. Too often I hear people say that they have been seeing one for weeks, months maybe even years with no real improvement. Getting adjusted makes them feel better but the root problem is never solved. This guy didn’t offer any solution or even a plan but rather wanted to get my next 2 appointments set up. That doesn’t sit well with me. I don’t want to have some dude pop my back a couple times a week, I want a real plan and a goal solution.
That’s why I like Vince, the guy I have gone to in the past. He gave me things to do at home and told me only to come back if I wasn’t getting better. He offered a real solution for me and wasn’t just looking to bill my insurance. Before I even pulled out of the parking lot this morning I had made an appointment with Vince.
