12 Aug Dan Dalenberg | Week 3 | Deload
Training for the XPC/RPS Atlantic City meet on August 29th. I will be lifting raw with wraps at 242.
Quick update for this week.. Nothing exciting to write about really.
We had a really nice weekend in Tybee Island, GA this weekend. Some good beach time, lots of good seafood and got to explore Savannah a bit too. Really cool area with lots of neat historic stuff to check out. Great physical and mental break.
This week I am deloading and getting some good recovery work in. Last night I went in and got some squat and pull work in- just enough to get a good sweat going. My squat is right on point, hips are bound up nice and tight. Started to get into the depth ballpark around my 3rd or 4th set with 325. This is perfect and exactly how I want to feel. Just barely mobile enough to get into the positions I need to be in. Stiff and tight is strong and my low back and hips are like steel beams.
Tonight I will get some floor pressing in and get a good upper body pump going. While I feel super strong, I’m feeling a little flat. I was only able to get 2 sessions in the past weeks due to work and travel which has been great for recovery but I need to get a little volume in this week. Could also be the long weekend in Georgia, definitely got a little overheated and sweat a lot of water out. Seriously, I don’t know how the Samson guys, Â Lisa G, or Walker/Wong train in garages in Florida. Michigan has ruined me for any kind of real hot weather.
