Dan Dalenberg | XPC-2 |SQ/DL/BENCH

Contest prep is a wrap! Some light work, a weight cut and plenty of rest for the next week and a half. Here’s a quick look at what I did during week two.

[wa-wps]

Day 1- Squat/Deadlift

Plan: Last warm up on both.

Squat- 660 for 2 singles.

I took it the first time and it was awful. Chelsea and I moved into our house this past weekend. Between the physical labor of moving and then the additional stress of doing that I was physically and mentally spent. I had a lot of trouble sleeping in the new place the first two nights as well. So by Monday afternoon my body was done. Checked out.

Deads- 315 x 3 x 1

I pulled up to 315, realized how tired I really was and bailed on the rest of the session. Went home to sleep. I actually felt ill, flu like but turns out I just really needed rest.

Day 2- Bench

Plan: Last warm up

Maybe the best my bench has felt in a long, long time. Moved fast and snappy, effortless.

Curls and pressdowns to finish out.

This Training Cycle

This contest prep was kind of messy. Bought a house. Traveled for work to do a very time consuming and expensive validation lab. Moved into said house.  I spent a good portion of the “meat” of this prep traveling and working way too much. However, I was able to get all of the training done that I needed to and feel ready now.
