Last real bench session from last Friday afternoon.[wa-wps]
Bench- Plan: Opener, reverse band 2nd, maybe more
Reality- Just the opener of 450.
Last week was a long one. I was traveling for work and while we had a very successful trip, it made Friday long. 4 hours of sleep, followed by 4 hours crammed on a plane and then pretty much straight to the gym. I’d say my opener is pretty safe if I can still hit it smooth in those conditions!
Decided to call it after that. At basically 3 weeks out from the meet, no reason to push it too hard. Much more potential for harm than good.
Finished out with a bunch of direct arm work, some shoulder pressing and close grip pressing.
