Dan Dalenberg | XPC – 4 out | Squat

I’m currently in contest prep for the 2017 Arnold Classic XPC Finals. I will be lifting multi-ply at 242. My training is being written and guided by Brian Carroll.

Last week’s squatting was atrocious. Absolutely brutal, like I had forgotten how to squat entirely. This week was supposed to be a deload, but with the meet so close I needed to get one in and have decent squat session. The plan was to repeat the previous week.

So much better. Worked up to my 875 opener and called it there. I did have one more set to do, a 2nd attempt with a band, but I was exhausted and already almost 2.5 hours into this one so I took the win and packed up.

On a different note- I spent the first 90 minutes or so messing with some new briefs. I have a smaller, triple ply pair that I am trying to make work. We were able to get them all the way on and I was able to squat in them albeit very high. I took a few sets before my legs were painfully numb and had to bail on those briefs. I think they will work eventually, but I need more time to get them properly broken in.
