Brian Carroll | Week 3, day 1 | Squat & DL day with video

[wa-wps]

Getting back into the swing of things with a meet picked out for December. Huge thanks to Captain Jacked and Inzer for their backing and support!

The goal for Saturday was to take a last warm-up with a band plus more than opener with a band. This is slightly heavier than what we usually advocate but it was a trade off. I did an extra set but did the last warm-up with a band as well as the 1055.

I’m done with squats/DL’s now minus the fluff & buff work over the next week.

Squat
735×1 – Preds + double grippers
845×1 – full gear
965×1 – full gear and reverse band
1055 – same

Deads
400×1
500×1
585×1
635×1 – all with Inzer Fusion DL suit

DONE.

The day went as planned and as good as I could have asked for. 965 is more than a last warm-up and same with 1055 – more than an opener. Dead felt solid but I’m ready for rest. I feel pretty good about both lifts – probably better than I have in a long time. But, this is not always an indicator for how the meet will go. I’ve had terrible cycles then squatted great at the meet and vice versa.

Huge thanks to Team Samson & team PRS for all of their help in the gym and at meets this year. I know it’s a team effort especially when on a whim gear must be broken in, and all that comes with that and sacrificing your own training sessions at times. Thank you

The bottom line is I’m pretty ready and with one final session to go on bench (Monday night) I plan on finishing solid even with some achy joints to ensure confidence on the bench. I’ll update on this session soon.

thanks for following!
