06 Nov Dan Dalenberg | Post Meet Update
I recently lifted in the Lexen Fall Classic in Columbus, Ohio where I totaled 2400 via a 950 squat, 715 bench and 735 deadlift at 242 multi-ply. Next up, I will do a short off-season before starting prep for the 2018 XPC Arnold.
I haven’t trained at all since the meet. Did some core work and some band stuff, but otherwise just hanging out in the gym helping the other guys get through.
I managed a couple small injuries at the meet that need a little time to heal. My left pec is strained…again… for about the 15th time. This one was the worst though. It actually bled out a bit. Thankfully, at the meet Dain just did, Janel Vegter was there and doing massage work. She worked on me at the Arnold and was excellent. I knew that was a nice stroke of good luck and had her work on my pec twice. She broke up a bunch of nasty knots, and while it looks worse now, it feels a lot better. No pain, full range of motion. Just going to take real easy on any pressing. I also have some neat looking bruising on my left hip. Nothing hurts and I can’t find any knots in the muscle though so I’m choosing to not worry about that one.
Nothing else to really speak of! I’ll finish out this week with very little training and next week I might do a bit of actual lifting. We shall see!
