Lab Rat – Pre Contest Week 1 Day 1

I’m training for the XPC Finals at the Arnold Sports Festival® March, 7, 2015.  I’ll be competing as a 242lb raw lifter looking to improve my best meet lifts of 575, 430 and 600.

This past Saturday marked the start of Pre Contest combo training.  I just finished a very light deload week, my body was feeling refreshed and I was ready to move some weight.  Warm up consisted of the McGill Big 3 and a couple sets of KB squats.

Squat-  Worked up to 3 top sets of 2 with 70% of a projected max.  Everything felt light and moved fast, as it should.

  • Bar 2 x 8
  • 150 3 x 5
  • 240 x 3
  • 330 x 2
  • 420 2 x 2
  • 440 x 2

Deadlift-  135-315 was pulled off the floor as form checks.  405+ was pulled from 6″ blocks working up to a 7rpe double.

  • 135 2 x 3
  • 225 x 3
  • 315 x 2
  • 405 x 2
  • 455 x 2
  • 515 x 2

Jason began training under Brian’s tutelage in February 2013. He was actually one of the initial test subjects, hence the name Lab Rat. Since then he has seen significant improvements on all lifts with his commitment to Brian and the 10/20/Life methodology.
