Lab Rat – You’re either SWOT or you’re not

SWOT 2016.  For those living under a rock last weekend was the StrongEST Weekend of Training for the year.  Countless members of Team PRS visited the Team Samson Compound to make the final push leading into the Arnold.   PR’s were earned but appeared to be effortless as almost every lifter improved on what was once their best lift.  Be sure to check out other training logs for details of each lifters accomplishments.

I’ll be competing in Ft. Myers, FL. @ RPS Redemption III May 28th and I’m in a damn good position.

Friday evening the team went to a local Sushi place, I kept my portions in check as I was planning to deload during the SWOT session Saturday morning.  After some encouraging words from Byrd and Brain several more plates of chicken, rice and Sushi were ordered.  I was mentally committed to squat heavy.

Ten months ago I was peaking for a meet where I did my first 600lb squat.  This past Saturday called for a delaod but that went out the window – along with my previous best gym lift.  Todd, Danny, Will, Shane and I shared ol faithful, the yellow mono that was brought back from the dead.  We moved through warmups rather quickly and everything was feeling great, actually better than the previous week.

  • 2 x 5 w/ 145
  • 2 x 4 w/ 235
  • 325 x 3
  • 375 x 1
  • 415 x 1
  • 465 x 1 (light wrap)
  • 505 x 1 (light wrap)
  • 555 x 1 (opener wrap)
  • 615 x 1 (good wrap – Thanks Shane!)

615 moved smooth, huge confidence builder going into pre contest training.  After squatting I assisted others squatting heavier weights then jumped into a new Inzer SDP bench shirt that will be sitting at the Arnold as a backup.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Arnold!!
