Jonathan Byrd 950 squat 785 block pull 6 weeks out!

Currently working my way down in weight to lift in the 275 class at the XPC Finals. Looking to improve on my all-time best lifts of 1040, 725, and 730lbs. I am also taking on additional online clients for personalized training. Feel free to email me at onlythestrongllc@gmail.com if you are interested.

Less than 6 weeks to go and things are moving along well. This is the time of training where you start to see your hard work pay off. It is also the most brutal part of training. Saturday’s squat/deadlift session took nearly 4 hours to finish and get the gym picked up. I honestly had no idea it had been that long because the atmosphere in the gym is at high level. There are currently 4 lifters from Team Samson prepping for the XPC, which will lead to some intense situations.

Squats
Raw up to 500
briefs on
655×1
suit bottom on
750×1
straps up
850×1 about last warm up
950×1 about opener

Still struggling to find the right gear combination since my weight loss, but I will figure it out.

Deadlift
2×1@425 briefs
suit on
1×1@515
1×1@605 about last warm up
blocks (4in)
700×1 about opener
745×1
785×1

The 785 was a solid PR after the end of a very long training day. Things are looking up with my deadlift for sure. I will not hesitate to attempt 800lbs at the meet if it means going for the win.
