Danny Vega – Off-season Week 6 – Pulls…and GAMEPLAN

I am training for the RPS Redemption/XPC Qualifier on May 30, 2015. I will be competing in the classic raw 220lb weight class. I plan on gaining 10-12lbs over the next 10 weeks, and this is the plan. If I am not gaining about 1lb a week, I will adjust up or down.

Protein Carbs Fat Kcals
Training Days 240 550 100 4150
Off Days 260 175 200 3535

Deload week is coming to a close. Bodyweight is at 226, which puts me at 10lbs gained since the first week of January.

I’ve added Gameplan supplements to my regimen, and so far I’m loving them. Read below if you’re interested in what supplements I’m using,  and how I’m using them.

Week 6 Deadlift deload

 1. Deload pulls 5×1@435

2. 50 front squats @135 (finished in 2 sets)

3. DB Row 3×20@90

4a. DB shrugs w squeeze 3×20@100

4b.  Lat pulldown 3×20@160

Tomorrow I’ll come in and do some Prowler and sled, then call it a week.

OK, I’ve decided to take my game to the next level and add some supplements. I’ve chosen Gameplan because they have great products with great ingredients. If you don’t believe me, go to their website here and check the ingredients for yourself.

Here’s how I’m using them.

5am: 1 pack of Life (multivitamins, probiotics, and omega 3s), PB&J sandwich

5:30am: 1 scoop of orange flavored  Pump Pre-workout

6am intra-workout: 1 scoop of orange flavored Pump Pre-workout, 1 scoop of Vanilla Whey, 1 scoop of orange flavored  Recovery BCAAs, 16.9 Oz bottle of orange Gatorade. It mixes great and tastes like an orange creamsicle.

After training I eat a low fat, high carb meal with some protein. I really like egg whites with Canadian bacon and white rice.

I’m loving the Gameplan supplements. The pump gave me so much energy that I decided to do those front squats at 135.

The vanilla whey mixes quickly and easily, no clumping. Check out my instagram @dvegatron and I’ll share a video of how easily it mixes. I’m glad I found a great tasting source of BCAAs, as that was missing from my nutrition.
