24 Feb Danny Vega – Off-Season Week 8 – Squats
I am training for the RPS Redemption/XPC Qualifier on May 30, 2015. I will be competing in the classic raw 220lb weight class.
Week 8 Squat
1. Squat 5×3@415,445,475,505,505
2. 2 count Pause Squats 3×3@445
3. Single leg GM 3×8@70
4. Reverse sled drags 3x370lbs
This is the heaviest I have gone in off-season, higher volume training. And I still feel like there is a lot more in the tank. So I’m really excited to hit my next meet prep with a better strength base. Squats are awesome. So are deadlifts. Still searching for my bench. Some of my team mates have found theirs, so I am sure it will turn up sometime soon.
By the way, if you want a good idea for a before bed snack, try mixing half a scoop of Gameplan chocolate whey with 1 cup of cottage cheese and some peanut butter. I don’t care how you think it tastes. If you like peanut butter and chocolate, you’ll like this.
