Drink a little drink. Smoke a little squat.

I am currently getting ready for the RPS Redemption/XPC Qualifier on May 30, 2015 in Fort Myers, FL.  I am staying at the 114lb weight class but going in wraps for the first time.

I had another great squat and deadlift session this week.  Out at Team Sampson headquarters again and had a great time with the guys.  There is so much experience among all the guys and I am soaking up as much of that knowledge as I can.  I am getting more comfortable using monolift and figuring out my set up.  I am still not 100% comfortable with the wraps yet.  I need to learn to sit back into them and trust the wraps.  I’ll have more time after the RPS meet in Ft. Myers to work with wraps.  I plan on taking a long off season after the RPS meet. I hit my opener at 300# and second attempt at 335# which was a training PR for me.

Deadlifts went well.  Opener at 315# flew off the floor.  Second attempt at 350# felt light and had great speed.  Went for 370# to test out a max and I got it about an inch off the floor and stalled, missed lift.  Good news I didn’t let it get to me.  The old me, the scared, unconfident lifter would’ve let that missed lift mind F*&CK me.  I was happy that I was able at least break it off the ground and the 350# was fast.

I even took a celebratory shot of some Jack with Byrd and Brian for my training PR’s.
