19 Oct LISA GUGGISBERG: 2 Weeks out Pre-Contest Squats and Deadlifts
I recently competed at the RPS South FL Conquest in my first multiply meet. I totaled 1118 at 123 weight class. I am currently getting ready for my 2nd multiply meet at the RPS Reverent Rising on October 29, 2016.[wa-wps]
Had a GREAT squat session this weekend. Thank you Bert and Mindy Underwood for inviting Brian, Byrd and myself down to check out Iron Addicts Gym in Miami. Miami people, check this gym out. By far the cleanest gym I have ever been in, a TON of equipment. I saw dumbells up to 200lbs, lots of cardio machines AND it’s powerlifting friendly. Plenty of squat racks, deadlift platforms and a mono. Check it out.
Squat Warm up:
- McGill Big 3
- Goblet Squats
- Bar 2 x 10 (65lb)
Worked up to my opener of 425 and second of 465. My squat has never felt better. Everything moved quick and felt light. Super happy with this. Always a great feeling when you end a meet prep cycle with a great training session.
Worked up to opener, 365lbs in Inzer Fusion deadlift suit. I switched to a smaller size, was in a 30 and put on a 29. Made a big difference. Much more spring off the floor.
I’ll take my last heavy bench this week and then shut it down until the meet.
