Lisa Guggisberg Pre-Contest 3 weeks out

I recently competed at the RPS South FL Conquest where I did my first multiply meet.  I totaled 1118 at 123lbs.   I am currently getting ready for the RPS Reverent Rising meet on October 29 where I will go multiply again.

Brian and I talked earlier and we weren’t sure we were going to get a training session in on Saturday due to Hurricane Matthew.  Decided we would squat in water if we had to. (JK)  Luckily the Team Samson compound survived.  Deload week for me.

Squats:

Warm up:

  • McGill big 3
  • Goblet squats
  • bar 2 x 10

Work:

  • 150 x 3
  • 200 x 3
  • 240 x 1
  • 290 x 1 Brand New Inzer Predator Brief on
  • 355 x 3 singles

Squats felt better this week. Unrack was much better.

Deadlifts:

Threw on Inzer Fusion suit and hit a couple sets at 225 just playing around with foot position and really just working form in the suit.

Accessory Work:

  • Weighted Bulgarian split squats 4 x 15 each leg
  • Walking lunges 4 x 20 each leg
  • Leg press 3 x 20
  • Heavy KB swings 3 x 15-20

I’ll be 2 weeks out this Saturday and ready to take some bigger weights.

She started CrossFiting in 2006 but gave that up after realizing all she wanted to do was squat, bench and deadlift heavy. She now competes as a raw and multi-ply powerlifter in the 114 and 123 weight classes. Lisa has All-Time top 10 totals in both raw and multi-ply in her respective weight classes with a raw pro total of 936 lbs at 114 and a pro 1118 lb multi-ply pro total at 123 and 1090 lb multi-ply total at 114. She is currently ranked the #1 female multi-ply lifter at 123, #2 at 114 multi-ply female and #3 raw with wraps. Lisa has a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration, but hates politics and political debates. She is a mom of two, a firefighter wife and has worked as a full time litigation paralegal for almost 20 years.
