Lisa Guggisberg-Pre-contest Arnold Prep Squats/Deadlifts

I am currently in pre-contest mode getting ready for the XPC Finals at the Arnold where I will be lifting in the equipped division.

Saturday Squats & Pulls

Warm up:

  • McGill Big 3
  • Goblet Squats
  • Bar 2 x 5

Squats:

Worked up to 375 or 80% for 4 singles in full gear, lose straps up.  These felt much better than last week.

Still working on sitting back into the briefs/suit.

Deadlifts:

335# for 4 singles.  These moved well.  Still working on getting a nice wedge on my set up but I think I am starting to figure out the suit.  I am finally able to really pull the straps tighter.

I’ll be deloading this Saturday and working in briefs only.

So far off to a good start of meet prep.

Lisa has a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration, but hates politics and political debates. She is a mom of two, a firefighter wife and has worked as a full time litigation paralegal for almost 20 years.
