15 Aug Brian Carroll | Precontest Week 7, day 2 & 3| Bench & assistance day
I’m less than 5 weeks out from the NJ Battle at the Boardwalk meet where quite a few lifters from the team will be competing. This should be a great time! I’ll be lifting in the 242 weight class.
I’ve come full circle and am back with Inzer Advance Designs, just like I was from 2006-2009 where I did some of my best lifting ever. I’m very excited about the opportunities this brings me and my team.
I’m after the total record at 242 of 2695, and squat record of 1140. My best total ever is 2730, and best squat ever is 1185 – my best individual lifts combined are low to mid 2800’s at 275. My best total at 242 is 2610 and I will be adding to that very soon.

Monday’s bench – been a busy week but now getting it all caught up!
This was not a great training day in any way. It was one of those days I call a “wash”. You get nothing done and at the time you feel like it’s a huge waste. But when you reflect back on the session, you realize that it’s not a waste and you learn a whole lot in these sessions.
Not crying anymore but….. it’s just one of those things LOL

Then a whole fiasco of cussing, trying on other shirts, getting under the bar countless times with extreme frustration and such. Nothing was fitting correctly and i was pissed! Well, the answer was easy and the solution was even more simple. I woke up the next day and realized the issue but here’s the rest of the work I did..
Incline DB press: 3×15
Band fly: 3×15
Band Skull: 3×15
LOTS of rear delt and shoulder work etc…
I work up at 257 and realized why my shirt was dead and didn’t pop at all. Problem solved. My weigh floats between 263-267 so being 10lb or so down was bad. I cleaned up my eating quite a bit and grilled a bunch of food for the weekend.
I have it figured out now since I’m not using FitMeals anymore for my meals. I was making them more clean and needed to up my Kcals a little bit. Without the added sauces and carbs, I wasn’t holding very much water in comparison! I always check my weight but when I switched over meals, I wanted to give it a week and see what my weight did.. well 4 days of eating was 10lb lol.
More training for the week…. Wednesday, squat and DL assistance day!

Big day for me Saturday, as I take my last couple lifts and prepare to rest for 2 weeks! Body is feeling beat up but not very much more left to do! I’ll be just fine.
Very much looking forward to this meet and getting to see some of my favorite people and lift some weights!
