Check out Jonathan Byrd Killing PR’s after a Potential Career Ending Injury

Watch Jonathon Byrd as he KILLS his previous PR’s of squat, deadift and total just 4 weeks ago, while going 8 for 9 at the RPS Redemption meet in Fort Myers.

John had the biggest total of the meet and won best lifter. John moved down to Jacksonville last year, and started training with Team Samson just last year.

John played College and Pro football for years, as well as lifting competitively at a high level before coming down to train with Team Samson.

John suffered a FULL pectoral Tendon rupture just 18 months ago, and has recovered 100% since, and PR’d on every lift. NOTE: Paul Key was true asset in dialing his bench in and helping with bench programming.

Byrd didn’t have the showing at the Arnold that he had hoped for, so we decided to tweak a few things. We went raw to work on a base for a few weeks, then right into pre meet training. It worked very well.

Squats: 925, 1000, 1040 for a 30lb PR
Bench: 650, 680 matches PR
Deadlift: 650, 685, 735 which is a 60lb PR
Total: 2450, a 70 pound total PR

Only 6 days later, John lifted bench only at APF Senior Nationals, and hit an all-time best bench of 705lb and just narrowly missed a 727 at the top.

John used the 10/20/Life Custom Combo day with my custom coaching and tweaks for this meet peaking cycle.
