Byrd: 1 Week Meet Prep?

Just kidding? Well maybe……..

If you have followed my log you know that I did not perform to the best of my abilities in Atlantic City. You also know that I was dealing with a nasty quad/hip injury. I also missed an 800lb bench at lockout that would have made me feel a lot better about the day. With all that said, I am currently pain free in my previously mentioned areas.

So what does that mean? Really nothing, because the littlest thing can set it off again and set me back a few weeks. See I took 4 weeks off with no squats. This week I threw on some gear and see if I could squat.

The result?

Pretty pain free with the exception of some raw warm ups. Took me a few reps to find my stance, and thanks to a new set of predators from Inzer, my depth was not great. This was the first set in those briefs, and trust me they are beefy! The good news is they will be ready on meet day if I decide to go full meet. 1K OR BUST?

Bench

Ok I am a pussy when it comes to tight gear, and Brian called me out on it. My shirt is big, too big, and I just jack the shit out of it and make it work. Well that wont work if I want to hit the numbers I am capable of. So I decided to bite the bullet and finish breaking in a new shirt. Took a few reps to adjust, but I got the hang of it. 800 OR BUST?
