Byrd: 3 Weeks Out, Time To Make A Move!

Arnold prep is here and its time to get to work! The field for the Arnold is pretty impressive and will take a big day to finish near the top of the field.

Guess who is healthy(ish) and finally carrying some bodyweight? Going to have to cut for the first time in awhile, but not too worried. I will be using the weight cut method laid out by Brian Carroll here.

The final push is here! That flu put me a little behind the curve, but I am ok with it. I talked over a plan with Brian and Paul and have gone full speed ahead with it. Last weeks bench was a big success, with a strong PR and built some momentum going into squats this week. The plan was to actually deadlift after but I have some swelling in my knee. Nothing to worry about, but after a few tight wraps I played it safe and called it there.

We had a solid plan today, to work up to find what could be just below a 3rd attempt on meet day. I didnt go through all 3 attempts, So I took just below an opener then made a 100lb jump. Form broke down a little on the 1055, but the 950 was as clean as I can make it. Currently I am having some issues with my right shoulder caving down and causing my leg to cave in and causing that shift that kills my drive. When I work to keep it back my squats are much faster, so it is something I have to be aware of at all times.

Ready to get to the Arnold!

I have always been crazy, but its kept me from going insane!
