Byrd: Equipped Squats and Pain Free Deadlifts!

Offseason is in full swing, with goals of bringing up some weak points and getting healthy! So far the body weight is up and body is healing nicely. Currently no meets in the near future, but still lots of big goals.

Guess who is health(ish) and finally carrying some bodyweight?

Closing in on 290lbs and pretty damn excited. With that said my gear is fitting pretty tight, and I love it haha! It makes getting in my gear a nightmare, but its nice to feel the pain of equipped lifting again.

The goal for Saturday’s squats were to take some lighter weights in full gear and try to work down in depth some. I am working in a new combination of Inzer gear and its working great so far! I have always been able to get to depth with what most would consider light weights for an equipped lifter. With this current set up of custom predator briefs and leviathan ultra pro I am having to work for depth. I believe this will lead to much bigger squats at the Arnold!

Squats:
Raw work up to 440 in sleeves
briefs on
1×1@530
1×1@620
1×1@710 added wraps
add suit
2×1@855 depth was just below a 2 count.

Overall I was pleased with this, as I didnt think I could get to depth, but for just 2 weeks this was pretty close!

Deadlifts!!!!!

Ok, so if you have followed my training much you know I have not been able to deadlift sumo for months. Infact at my last meet I had not pulled but 1 time the entire training cycle, and just pulled what I could on meet day.

Started off with briefs on doing block pulls from 4inches
top set briefs 495×2
added suit 585×2

form pulls from the floor
2×1@405
1×1@495

Obviously not being weights in any lift this week, but everything moved well and there was no pain. A heavy, and healthy me could manage a solid total come March!
