22 Jan Byrd: Finally a Real Squat!
After some recent injuries and pneumonia, I have no meets in sight before the WPO. I am going into an offseason with some goals of getting healthy, fixing some specific weak areas, and trust me there are a few!
I’m currently working an off-season program I wrote to help keep myself a little more honest. I am also going to the local commercial gym 1-2 days a week to just get in a little cardio and do some stuff on machines. I don’t fit in, and hate it, but it needs to be done.
Squat: Camber bar+160 in chain to each weight
2×5@ 1plate plus chains
2×5@ 245 plus chains
1×3@ 335 plus chains
1×1@ 425 plus chains
Added Knee Wraps
1×1@ 515 plus chains
1×1@605 plus chains
Sumo deadlifts
4×1@ 405
This weeks squat went a long way to help me mentally. I worked with the camber bar and added 160lbs in chain. The chain really isnt being used to help so much with the weight but more to help push me around so ill focus on staying tight. They more than did their job, but the time I have spent fixing things is paying off. All sets were pretty light and moved well, but the biggest thing is no real shifting or pain. It is going to be nice to see what I can do with two working legs!
