Byrd: “Get Right”

Meet prep is here, and its started strong. My goal is to move every weight fast this cycle and let the numbers fall where they may on meet day. I took some heavy squats and benches before I left for a vacation with some college teammates. We do this every year, so I planned my deload to fit it.

Squat:
I used a different set of inzer predator briefs and these seem to fit me a little better. I warmed up raw to a mid 400 then added my briefs.
1×1@515
1×1@605
1×1@700
Suit on
1×1@820
1×1@900rb

Everything moved exactly how it should and form felt pretty solid.

Secondary work
3×8 piston squat
3×8 single leg deads

It was a nightmare with the heat, but that’s my fault for picking a Summer meet in Florida!

Bench night was solid. My Inzer SDP is broke in and ready for some weights. One big thing I need to focus on is keeping my upper back tight and breaking harder at the start of the lift.

Raw warm ups to 375
3board raw
415×2
425×2
Shirt on all sets to 3board
550×1
605×1
685×1
740×1
775×1

I was really happy with the speed, but I need to focus on the points I mentioned before.

Secondary work
3×8 light dumbbell press
150 push downs

Jezzy said it’s time to let them know!
