Byrd: Its Meet Week!

This has been one long training cycle! I did my typical 10 week meet prep, but I have been pretty beat up. I have had to go at least one time per week to get adjustments and massages. I am still in some pain with my right quad tendon, but I will find a way to finish the meet.

Now for the next issue, new job! Those of you who know much about me realize I am a special education teacher. Well this year I took on a new challenge with my teaching assignment. I am currently teaching courses for student’s with behavior and emotional issues. To say that it has brought some stress in my life during meet week would be an understatement. Fortunately, I the students have responded well to me. Eventually when I can get the students into a better routine things will be better.

This is why we compete rather than just do gym lifts, because we now can not control all the factors. Not only will I now deal with home stress, but you will deal with the stress of travels and the actual meet. I have some big goals in mind, and fairly confident I will get them.

Travel sucks, I hate planes, and I hate just being in airports, but I am excited to get up to AC. I was lucky to get a flight straight in to AC but I will have to be up at like 4am, which really sucks! I am looking forward to seeing everyone when I get there and relaxing. No weight cut for me now as the stress has took my weight down some. My biggest issues will be staying out of the casino!
