12 May Byrd: Less Fat and More Volume
Full speed ahead! Right now that plan is to lift in Atlantic City August 29th with the RPS. My weight class is still up in the air as I am sitting at 265 right now. Over the 6 weeks of training I will be adding in more direct work and trying to gain some size. I am looking forward to working on some raw stuff and trying out some new gear. I have never worn gear that was fit for me, so it will be interesting to see how much it changes both my lifting and ability to adapt in the gear.
Bench Day!
I am bad about slacking in my aux work. I do it, but I dont do it with the intensity that I should. I have let Brian Carroll lay out the next 6 weeks for me. We are doing very similar stuff but our main and first assistance will look a little different.
Small incline dumbbell press
4×8
Floor press
Final set 275+80lb in chain x3
Combo of band fly (15) push up for speed (5) bench dips (15) for 3 rounds
combo of hammer curls (20) and push downs (20) for 4 rounds
I am pretty sore today, but in a good way. Need to build the muscle it will take for me to break into the mid 2500s.
