Byrd: Offseason Training

Offseason is in full swing, with goals of bringing up some weak points and getting healthy! So far the body weight is up and body is healing nicely. Currently no meets in the near future, but still lots of big goals.

Both pecs and shoulders are not feeling the best in the world. I have decided to do most of my training using the shoulder saver or boards to protect that. I will be rotating the shirt work in every few weeks. Around Christmas time I will make the switch over to meet prep.

Bench: The plan is to keep trying to build a bigger trcicep to help with my equipped bench. I wanted to get in my shirt, but was limited on training partners. I opted to bench vs bands so I wouldnt have to handle as much weight with my chest. I used the shoulder saver again to help protect my pec.

I worked triples up to the top set of 315×3 plus the orange band.

Everything felt pretty good and I am adjusting well to the feet being tucked again. Looking forward to using my shirt off some higher boards in the next few weeks.

Aux day: Goal was to get in and out this week. Moved quickly and got my work done. Needed to get home to watch the World Series

5×8 shrugs
5×5 rows
4×20 face pulls
100 push downs
3×20 dumbbell curls
3×8 Bulgarian squats

Squat: Wanted to get in my briefs but was short on training partners. Opted to work on some specific weak points. Squatted using the camber bar vs the grey and orange band.

Top set of 515×2 plus bands.
