07 Jun Byrd: Reverse Band Bench
Finally broke the 2,500 total mark at the Arnold, but like any lifter I feel there is more left in the tank. Focusing on some offseason goals which include gaining some weight to fill out the 275 class, improving my bench, adjusting some form issues on the squat, and adding more upper back size. The next 8 weeks will focus on raw work and speed. I feel like if I can get those things accomplished I will be looking at another PR total come meet time.
[wa-wps]First off, reverse band bench in the shirt is HELL! It really is the hardest movement for me in the gym. We used the mono so we could adjust the band tension to deload about 70-90lbs at the chest. I just didnt feel like I had the pop that I normally do this week. I am pretty sure I am just worn down. I still managed to work up to 870lbs (the lockout sucked).
So now I am just a few weeks out from the Europa and need to dial in with lower boards and touching. Bodyweight is sitting at 285 and my strength feels pretty good. I need to get some work done on my pec and bicep this week before benching on Monday. I will be back in briefs this weekend to work on getting a new set broke in. Plans right now are to lift at Burt and Mindy Underwoods RPS meet in September.
