Jonathan Byrd: Deload before prep

Offseason is in full swing, with goals of bringing up some weak points and getting healthy! So far the body weight is up and body is healing nicely. Currently no meets in the near future, but still lots of big goals.

Guess who is health(ish) and finally carrying some bodyweight?

Deload weeks are rarely fun, but often needed. The next few weeks are really busy with the holidays and Brian’s meet next week. The current plan is to train this week, take squats off next week then squat again the week of Christmas. I am really excited about this meet prep, and have some lofty goals. Body weight is up and I am healthy. It has been almost 3 years since this has been the case, so I am pretty excited. Again I have learned my lesson and leave my meet prep in Brian’s hands. Paul Key has been able to make some bench sessions, so he will be working with me again on that. I really have no excuse for less than an outstanding meet.

Bench Deload
3×15 incline dumbbell with fat grips
3×10 band flys
5×20 band push downs

Aux Day
rows with fat grips 5×5
shrugs 3×8
lat pull downs 3×8
face pulls 4×20
tons of arm work

Nothing special this week, just focus on getting the blood going and gettin motivated for Saturday squat session.
