Is one better than the other? Do squat mechanics make a difference? what about experience level? Or is it all just a matter of personal preference?
I remember seeing you (Brian Carroll) squatting in the poly Jack suit, a combination Overkill suit, and the new canvas Leviathan UP at different times – I was hoping you might have some insight as it seems like you’ve spent time in both kinds of suit.
Broke ass nursing student here looking for any insight you guys might have to offer as a new suit is a huge investment for me.
So one thing you mentioned was about the huge investment a new suit will be. I totally get that! Suits are expensive.
Based on that, the ultra pro is a great option for you. The adjustability will let you wear it in multiple weight classes, getting the fit exactly right isn’t a factor with it since you can change the suit in real time. The adjustability will also let you wear it looser as you learn, so experience level becomes less of a factor too. With the Ultra Pro, assuming you stay within a weight class or two of where you start, it could be the only suit you ever have to buy.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve worn every squat suit on the market (pretty much).
I’ve squatted over 1100 in canvas (my first was in an Inzer canvas) and in poly.
Your best bet is the LUP as it will be the last squat suit you will ever have to buy, even if you gain or lose 30lbs.
