Tucker:The mysterious case of the disappearing hamstrings

… And they might have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids and that dog!

Man! What a bummer. My hams and glutes have always been a stubborn area, and they were finally coming along this prep. I wasn’t at ripped glute level, but at least lean and trim hams so that it didn’t look like a glaring weak point. They looked good the last 4 weeks and even better last night and early this morning. I was expecting them to keep tightening up and then when I turned around in the pump up room to check the mirror…. not much to be seen. There wasn’t anything I could do at that point so I just pumped up and got on stage. It didn’t affect my placing because the guy who got first was 3-4 inches shorter than me, more muscular and ripped head to toe, and they stuck me at the second spot. 2nd in my weight class isn’t too shabby taking into account all the stuff I had going on during this prep, and it’s the best I’ve looked so far, so from that perspective it’s a success.

What’s vexing though is that I was really looking forward to being able to show off a really nice back double bi that looks good from head to toe.

I called Noel and sent him pics and he’s not quite sure either. He’s thinking I just flattened out for some reason so he decided to roll the dice and have me have a big ass meal from In-N-Out. Two double doubles and some fries. Bleh. I’m not gonna have any cravings after this last week haha. We’re only adding that big amount of carbs and fats to see if that was the culprit, and if not it just means I spilled over or was holding water somehow.

I’m hanging out backstage at the night show now and I’m happy to report the hams are looking better, but still not where I’d like. I won’t be on stage for a couple more hours so when I go up it’ll tell us if we made the right decision or not.
