Zane Geeting, Quick update on the XPC finals

I’ll be competing at the XPC finals at the Arnold Classic this Friday afternoon in the 220 multi ply class. This will be my first full  meet in 2 years. I am fighting a partially torn left biceps at the myotendinous junction, and a strained left pec. I’m just hoping to make it through in one piece and post some respectable numbers.

Sunday was my last day in the gym before the meet. I did the following movements very light for a few high rep sets ea.

DB bench

Side laterals

Pushdowns

Scarecrows

DB shrugs

Rear delt DB raises

– I started water loading at 232 lbs. for my weight cut. This morning (Wed) After cutting carbs, I’m already down to 226. I’m still hydrating, and will likely continue to into the late afternoon, since I don’t have to weigh in until tomorrow afternoon.

-Here’s where I started water loading. I’ll post another pic after weigh ins if I can.

– The Game Plan supplements and a cleaner diet have helped me come in, in a little better shape than I have in the past. So far this is proving to make the cut very easy as well. 12 lbs. isn’t a big one by any stretch of the imagination, but I feel like the first half has been effortless and I’m not even trying. Thanks to Game Plan for giving me some of the tools I’ve needed to tighten things up during this training cycle.

– So, I’ll be leaving for Columbus in the morning, wish me luck.

Zane Geeting is a pro multi-ply powerlifter with best lifts of a 935 squat, 625 bench, and 765 deadlift. He is coming back to competitive PL after a year and a half layoff that was a result of several serious injuries including a severe rupture of the right pec that could not be repaired. Zane has an extremely busy schedule that would make most people quit before Friday. He works 55+ hours a week as a finance manager. As a renaissance man, he is also currently restoring a 140 year-old farmhouse and maintaining a hobby farm. Despite all this, Zane still finds time to train 2-3 times per week, as well as coach other lifters.
