Zane Geeting, Tuesday night bench training, wrapping up the off season

I’m currently in an off season training cycle, working on bringing up some weak areas and improving work capacity. This week concludes this cycle as I move into a pre meet cycle going into the APF MI fall open in October. After that will be the XPC finals at the Arnold sports festival again this year.

This was my last off season bench day, I decided to keep things light (like I don’t always do that on bench, lol) and decrease the volume, basically a deload session. Here’s how it went:

Warm up

BW squat, Bird dogs, McGill’s, DB cleans, Side laterals, Scarecrows

Bench

bar x 2 sets of a lot of reps

135×15, 185×10, 225×8, 255×8, 275×6

Side laterals

35’s x10, 50’s x10x3 sets

Lat pulldowns

5 sets of 10

Rope pushdowns

3 sets of 10

1 drop set

– That was the end of it. After the benching I got in some shoulder, upper back, and triceps work, then hit the road. We’re in the middle of a big sale event, so I’m still pushing huge hours. I started my day around 6:45am, and it was around 9:30pm by the time I made it to the gym. This was a one hour session and I got the hell out of there for some rest and food. I got to bed around 12:30am-1am, so I could be back up at 6:45 am to tend animals and do chores before work. My newest batch of chickens laid their first egg today, so I’m pumped about that.

– On to the next one.

As a renaissance man, he is also currently restoring a 140 year-old farmhouse and maintaining a hobby farm.
