Currently resting and waiting for the XPC Arnold weekend where I will be lifting at 242.

The last and final week of training was a tough one. We had a lifter compete last Sat at Schwabs meet and did awesome with around 1840 at 198 raw. Here are his lifts from the day:

This threw Byrd, Lisa and I off for the day BUT it’s all part of the game. Sunday squats and deads sucked for me but whatever. I felt slow and tired and like a big pussy, really. Not the way I wanted to wrap up training but it will be there meet day.

The goal was to take a last warm-up to an opener on both squat and dead. I sorda made it through but I wasn’t quite happy with it.

Squat:
760 – LUP, no wraps
850 – LUP wraps
1000 – same (between opener and last warm-up)

Deads:
315
405
500
625
715 – opener – felt like butt

At this point, my halo was showing and I had enough for the day. I got mad for a minute, then got over it to focus on benching the next day. I know this back-to-back training wouldn’t ideal but you do what is necessary to get the job done.

I really didn’t feel too terrible the next day but that’s part of the mindset you must have. The goal for this day was an opener off the 1bd in our back-up shirt.

Bench:
405×1 – 3bd
550×1 – 3bd SDP
680×1 – 3bd SDP
765 – 1bd SDP – this moved pretty well….see video below

Normal fluff and buff type work to finish up the day since the work is done.

My bodyweight is sitting in a good spot and I’m looking forward to lifting next weekend.

See you there.
